Based in Fort Worth, Texas, Jessica Fuentes has exhibited her work throughout North Texas for over a decade. She is a former member of the F6 Gallery Collective and 500X Gallery. In 2023, she and Christian Cruz, a Dallas-based performance artist, received a grant through the U.S. Latinx Art Forum’s Artist Mentorship Program.
As an art educator with over 15 years of experience, Jessica has taught in public schools, higher education, and museums. She was instrumental in developing the C3 Visiting Artist Project at the Dallas Museum of Art and the Carter Community Artists initiative at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art.
Through her work in museums, Jessica contributed to institutional publications and national blogs. She authored a chapter in the book Creating Meaningful Museum Experiences for K-12 Audiences: How to Connect with Teachers and Students (October 2021), edited by Tara Young, and has published articles in the Journal of Museum Education and the Art Education Journal. In 2023, Jessica was named a recipient of The Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant.
From 2021 to 2023, Jessica served as the Founding Director of Kinfolk House. Currently, she is the News Editor for Glasstire and a freelance museum consultant. She serves on the boards of Kinfolk House and Make Art with Purpose (MAP).
In her downtime, she can usually be found with her family out in nature, enjoying an art museum, or making art in their home studio.
